SHOW DATES: August 15 and August 16
SHOW TIMES: 8:00PM
SHOW SUMMARY: This one-act festival will feature three VERY funny
one-acts, directed by three different visionary directors. The
show will feature the following one-acts:
The Laziest Man On Earth (4 males) - Written by Carl
Webster Pierce
A comedic one-act about a team of burglars who are cleverly out-witted
by the laziest man in the world.
He's Having A Baby (5 females) - Written by Fred Carmichael
What would happen if men had babies and women paced the floor
on the maternity waiting room? The story revolves around three
anxious women: Mrs. Murray, a first timer who is constantly at
the point of hysteria; Mrs. Foster, who is having her seventh
and is outwardly very calm; and Mrs. Groton, already a mother
but now determined to become a parent of a girl. As they sit,
many differences are bought out to show what would happen if men
had babies. How each of the ladies take the news of their new
children and the reaction that follows make this an ideal show.
The Board (3 males, 2 females) - Written by Laverne
Kehr
In this futuristic comedy, members of a "board" attempt
to deal with the complex problem of a worker with a sore toe.
All that results, however, is a flow of bureaucratic jargon and
theoretical arguments. A practical-minded secretary solves the
problem, however. She offers the man a Band-Aid, much to the chagrin
of the board. This is a charming comedy based on the problems
which so often arise during the making of even the simplest political
decision.
Are you interested in directing one of the one-acts in this
year's festival? Well, Kyrus is looking for imaginative, fun,
and well prepared directors to take on a show in the festival.
Bigger and better than previous years, this year's festival will
present fun and innovative challenges for those directors looking
for a great experience.
